Wednesday 19 September - Porters Park
Porters Park
A strong  wind, gusting 40mph, greeted the members and guests after the  consumption a hearty breakfast.

The course was in great condition given the recent spell of dry weather with the putting proving a stern test for most. The only slight disappointment was the attendance which was well down on our average for the year.

Winner of the coveted Edna Farndon Trophy was John Summerbell with 33 points, playing off a handicap of 5. I shared the privilege of teaming with John and Graham Kilbey and both Graham and I were in awe of his consistent ball striking. Runner up, only 1 point behind was Brian Mitchinson - very well done to both. Team winners with 74 points. Were Captain John, Trevor Miles and David Tugwell.

Many thanks to your President Kim Harris for undertaking the Officer of the Day duties in such an efficient manner, not only for organizing the prizes and card marking but his general help on the day.
